Raspberry Crumble Slice

I hope you all had a lovely Sunday. For some of us the weekend is pretty much over, but for a lot of you your Sunday is just beginning! I’m very jealous, I’m not looking forward to work tomorrow at all. 😦

 

Last weekend I made a super yummy Raspberry Crumble Slice to take to our family Mother’s Day afternoon tea. Its a recipe I have made a few times and I love it. Not only does it taste super yum, its also super easy to make. I’ve made the slice before and it didn’t quite work, I’m pretty sure it was because I was rushed and misread the ingredients. It was still edible just a little too soft and the base wasn’t sticking together, but it worked perfectly in a bowl with ice cream like a traditional crumble. Looked messy, but tasted awesome. One of the many reasons I love this recipe, even when I stuffed it up it still tasted amazing.

I love the idea of this recipe and I’m sure you could use other fruits instead of raspberries. I might have to make this again with blueberries, strawberries and blackberries. Mixed berry crumble, straight from the oven topped with creamy vanilla ice cream, oh my doesn’t that sound fabulous!!!

 

I tried a few new things with my photography for this slice, some things worked well/ok and some really didn’t work. I’m still enjoying trying new things with my photography and I’m starting to see real improvement and like I’ve said before, its all about trial and error.

 

I posted these two pics on my facebook page the other and and received a lot of comments. While I was taking pics of my No Bake Chocolate Slice I also snapped a pic of my photography ‘studio’. You don’t need a lot of fancy equipment to take good photos. I set myself up on a table, next to a window, with a a piece of paper on the opposite side to bounce the light off and one of my purple dining room chairs as a sort of colourful back drop. I’m not getting professional recipe book quality pictures yet, but I’m getting there. You have to start somewhere, right?!?!
